Installation & Service Technician
Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
Travel time is paid portal to portal
$500 sign-on bonus available!
PURPOSE/FUNCTION/SUMMARY (TRAINING NEEDS)
Serves customers by installing and servicing machinery manufactured and distributed by ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ. Train customers in proper use of, and maintenance of machinery. Verifies that all services meet customer specifications and are in accordance with Company quality standards. This role requires strong technical skills, customer service abilities, and the capacity to work independently in the field while representing the company professionally.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Install, configure, and test machines at customer sites.
- Train customer on proper operation of machine.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive service on ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ machines at customer’s site.
- Diagnose technical issues and complete repairs efficiently.
- Troubleshoot mechanical parts for wear and damage.
- Evaluate electrical components for faulty components, and/or damaged wiring.
- Modify control parameters to ensure the machine performs within customer and manufacturer expectations.
- Document service activities, repairs, and parts used in service reports.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Plan and manage travel logistics to customer locations to complete scheduled service visits.
- Respond to service calls and troubleshooting problems via phone and email when not traveling.
- Give guidance to customers helping them troubleshoot their machines
- Identify failed components with customers assistance
- Identify part numbers for customers
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to customers and internal teams.
- Maintain service tools, laptop, and cellphone.
- Attend and support company participation at 2–4 industry trade shows annually.
- Around 80% of the time travel to job sites within the United States and occasionally Canada and Mexico.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Education/Training:Â Mechatronics or equivalent.
- Experience/Skills:Â Background in reading electrical schematics and electronics troubleshooting. Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision. Analyze information; use judgment; develop and maintain client relationships; equipment maintenance; strong written and verbal communication; quality focus; results driven; supply management.
TRAINING
Roper will train the Service Technician in the mechanical assembly of the machines, the electrical wiring and the software installation. Once the new employee understands how the machines are manufactured, the Service Technician will start to travel with another Service Technician to learn how to install new machines. The training will be 4-6 months long. Training will continue with older machines, how to fix and how to refurbish them.
