Pay Range: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour

PURPOSE/FUNCTION/SUMMARY (TRAINING NEEDS)

The Press Operator will use hand grinders, straight edge, and overhead cranes to prepare parts for the next operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operate hand grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Use a hydraulic press to straighten steel plates
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic hand tools a requirement
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Attention to detail
